Welcome to the AUGI Revit Community. Revit is Autodesk's premier Building Information Modeling solution, but did you know it was originally developed by a startup company called Charles River Software (founded 1997) - later renamed Revit Technologies. Autodesk succesfully acquired Revit Technologies on April 1, 2002. You can click here to brush up on the full history. If this is your first time here, be sure you become familiar with the Six Phases of a Revit User as made popular by Revit moderator and forum godfather, Chris Zoog.

Tis the Season...

Up here in the northern hemisphere, winter is upon us in just about every sense - the economy, the weather, and my role in the leadership of the Revit Community. As you may have known, Steve Stafford and I will officially retire as community leaders this winter. It has been my pleasure serving this vast and constantly growing user community since following in the footsteps of Jim Balding.

David BaldacchinoI am very excited to announce that David Baldacchino - our current Tips and Tricks Forum Manager - will be assuming the role of Revit Community Chair. David is an extremely active forum participant and moderator. Along with myself and David Kingham, he has even created some fantastic scripts for managing central-local files (check out the "Transparent Local File" thread). He also maintains a blog called "Do U Revit" which I highly recommend visiting and subscribing to his feeds.

I'd like to also thank those community members who have volunteered to help lead the community into the future. We decided to let our new Community Chair determine the selection of new moderators and forum managers. Remember that AUGI is an organization of the people, for the people and by the people. It will cease to exist without the continued support of its community members.

Thank you to all and good luck, David!
